FEATURED:

Colic- a syndrome, describing abdominal discomfort in the equine species, can be a significant financial burden on anyone from the weekend Trail rider to the high performance Western or English rider. Typically, to take a horse to colic surgery, one can expect to spend anywhere from $5,000-$15,000, depending on intraoperative intestinal health and recovery until time to go home. Now, while we don’t wish this on any horse there are ways to mitigate costs. Platinum Performance has a simple product that paired with routine Veterinary care, (Float, Vaccinations, Fecal, Deworm), can give reimbursement up to $10,000.00, if your horse should ever have to undergo colic surgery. The vast majority of cases we see are due to impaction, which Platinum Performance products may help with reducing the incidence of colic. Overall we see this as one of the least expensive ways to insure your family horse member and provide confidence that should colic arise, there will be some compensation.

  • Stetson Lanier
    DVM

Dr. Stetson Lanier was born and raised in Forestberg Texas where he grew up in a hard working cattle production family which lead him to his passion for veterinary medicine. He attended Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma where he obtained a bachelors degree in Animal Science and a minor in Chemistry. Stetson attended veterinary school in St. Kitts at Ross University College of Veterinary Medicine. While in veterinary school, Stetson was on the board of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners (Student Chapter) where he held a theriogenology position helping fellow colleagues during palpation trips and wet labs to become associated with bovine reproductive anatomy. He spent many breaks in between semesters helping palpate at the sale barn. He chose Oklahoma State Veterinary School as his clinical program where he was recognized and awarded the outstanding large animal student award. His professional interests include: Bovine and Equine reproduction. Stetson developed his love for reproductive medicine and Equine Embryo transfer after taking Large Animal Ranch Theriogenology during his clinical year. Even among large animal interests, Dr. Lanier actually enjoys working with small animals too and especially holds interest in surgery and community practice. When he is not practicing medicine, he enjoys being outdoors and “tinkering” with trucks/engines, working cattle, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and fiancé, who he met while in veterinary school in St. Kitts.
